The current packaging registration landscape
As checked on 14 August 2026, RENAP exposed the AEE, battery and tyre registers, but not an operational packaging register. For the present packaging route, CONAI assigns a Codice Socio and records it on the Attestato di adesione.
Describe this as CONAI membership evidence, not a RENAP packaging number or government certificate.
The foreign-company application
A foreign company requests the dedicated application route from CONAI. The file aligns its company evidence, signatory powers, category, delegation and elected domicilio speciale.
The tax identifier accepted on the foreign form remains a dossier-level confirmation. Do not promise an Italian VAT number or state that an Italian codice fiscale is always required.
Codice Socio is only the beginning
CONAI assigns the code after transmission; the competent body communicates formal admission. Keep the submitted application, membership evidence and later changes as separate dated records.
Membership also starts recurring duties: declaration-procedure selection, packaging data, invoice wording, filings and retained receipts.
Conclusion
Scope comes before a form. Connect the legal entity, product, sales channel and EPR stream to the rule that actually applies.
Evidence must remain traceable. Keep source data, versions, approvals, filings, receipts and every record issued by an external body.
Third-party decisions are never guaranteed. CONAI, public registers, collective systems and marketplaces control their own procedures, timing and decisions.
