Multi-stream EPR in Italy: packaging, WEEE and batteries
Step 1
Map the complete product
Step 2
Separate three classifications
Step 3
Obtain stream-specific evidence
Step 4
Maintain three recurring calendars
| Control | Evidence to retain |
|---|---|
| Scope | Entity, product, channel, stream and source |
| External action | Version, date, authorised filer and issued receipt |
| Maintenance | Source data, approval, invoice and next deadline |
A device can create three streams
A rechargeable product may include product and shipping packaging, electrical equipment and an incorporated battery. Review each layer independently.
CONAI packaging membership does not replace Registro AEE or battery evidence. A WEEE number does not cover the battery or packaging.
Build one product map with separate outputs
Use the SKU as the common reference, then record packaging components and fasce, WEEE category, battery category, legal entity, sales route and annual units or weights.
Link each stream to its own mandate, register, system, declaration procedure and external record.
Keep public pricing honest
Packaging can use the public CONAI estimate where classification is known. WEEE and battery contributions remain quote-only because their systems and product categories require review.
Changes to the product, battery, packaging or seller entity should trigger a scoped update rather than reuse of an old number.
Conclusion
Scope comes before a form. Connect the legal entity, product, sales channel and EPR stream to the rule that actually applies.
Evidence must remain traceable. Keep source data, versions, approvals, filings, receipts and every record issued by an external body.
Third-party decisions are never guaranteed. CONAI, public registers, collective systems and marketplaces control their own procedures, timing and decisions.
